Saddletramp

Saddletramp Records was founded in 1972 by music producer and entrepreneur Jim McCoy in Nashville, Tennessee. Initially focused on country music, the label aimed to promote emerging artists and diversify the genre. Throughout the late 1970s and 1980s, Saddletramp gained recognition for its roster of notable artists, including singer-songwriter Tom T. Hall and bluegrass group The Seldom Scene. The label also ventured into Americana and folk, reflecting the evolving musical landscape. In the 1990s, Saddletramp expanded its reach by signing artists from various genres, including rock and pop, while maintaining its roots in country. The label's commitment to artistic integrity and support for independent musicians helped it carve a niche in the competitive music industry. Although it faced challenges in the early 2000s, Saddletramp's legacy endures through its contributions to the growth of country and Americana music, influencing subsequent generations of artists and labels.
