Rhino

Rhino Records was founded in 1978 by Richard Foos, Marshall Blonstein, and Niko Bolas in Los Angeles, initially as a reissue label focusing on classic rock and pop music. The label gained prominence in the 1980s with its extensive catalog of compilations and box sets, including notable releases like "The Golden Age of Rock 'n' Roll" and "Nuggets." Rhino became known for its dedication to preserving and promoting a diverse range of genres, including punk, R&B, and alternative rock. In 1995, Rhino was acquired by Warner Music Group, which bolstered its resources and distribution capabilities. The label continued to thrive in the 2000s, releasing acclaimed projects such as the "Just Can't Get Enough" series and the "Rhino Handmade" limited editions. Key artists associated with Rhino include The Grateful Dead, The Doors, and Fleetwood Mac. Today, Rhino is recognized for its commitment to high-quality reissues and its role in shaping music preservation, solidifying its legacy in the industry.
