Milestone

Milestone Records, founded in 1966 by jazz musician Orrin Keepnews and his partner, was established as a subsidiary of Riverside Records. The label aimed to showcase innovative jazz artists and foster creative expression. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Milestone became known for its diverse roster, which included prominent figures such as McCoy Tyner, Bobby Hutcherson, and the influential saxophonist Charles Lloyd. The label primarily focused on jazz but also explored fusion and avant-garde styles, reflecting the evolving landscape of the genre during that era.
