Lost Nite

Lost Nite Records, founded in 1959 by the New Orleans-based entrepreneur and music enthusiast, was initially established to release rhythm and blues and rock and roll music. The label gained prominence in the 1960s, particularly known for its catalog of doo-wop and garage rock recordings. Among its notable artists were the legendary group The Five Satins, famous for their hit "In the Still of the Nite," and other regional acts that contributed to the burgeoning rock scene. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Lost Nite expanded its repertoire, releasing various compilations and reissues that preserved the sounds of early rock and R&B. The label's commitment to showcasing lesser-known artists helped to solidify its legacy as a vital part of American music history. Today, Lost Nite is recognized for its role in documenting and promoting the evolution of popular music, particularly in the genres of rock, doo-wop, and rhythm and blues.
