LeGrand Records was founded in 1965 by music producer and entrepreneur Jean Legrand in Paris, France. Initially focused on pop and chanson, the label quickly expanded its roster to include a diverse range of genres, such as jazz, rock, and electronic music. During the 1970s, LeGrand gained prominence for its innovative production techniques and for nurturing emerging artists, including the influential French singer-songwriter Claude François and the avant-garde jazz ensemble, Les Jazzmen de Paris.
