Golden World

Golden World Records was founded in 1961 in Detroit, Michigan, by Ed Wingate and his wife, as a subsidiary of the larger Golden World Enterprises. The label initially focused on rhythm and blues and soul music, contributing significantly to the Motown sound's development. Golden World became known for its roster of talented artists, including the legendary vocal group The Spinners and the influential soul singer Jimmy Ruffin. Throughout the 1960s, the label released a series of successful singles and albums, helping to shape the genre's landscape.
