Goldband

Goldband Records was founded in 1945 by Eddie Shuler in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Initially focused on Cajun and Zydeco music, the label quickly gained prominence for its role in promoting regional artists. In the 1950s, Goldband expanded its catalog to include rock and roll and rhythm and blues, producing notable hits that contributed to the Southern music scene. Key artists associated with Goldband include the legendary Cajun musician Iry LeJeune, as well as rock and roll acts like The Spiders and The Four Seasons. The label was instrumental in the careers of several Louisiana musicians, helping to popularize the unique sounds of the region. Goldband's legacy is marked by its influence on the development of Southern music genres and its role in preserving Cajun culture. Although it faced challenges in the 1970s, Goldband remains a significant part of American music history, celebrated for its contributions to the diverse tapestry of American roots music.
