Fraternity

Fraternity Records was founded in 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio, by Ralph E. "Rudy" Dorsey and his partner, John E. "Johnny" McGhee. Initially focused on rhythm and blues, the label gained prominence in the late 1950s and early 1960s, becoming known for its diverse roster that included artists like The Five Satins, whose hit "In the Still of the Nite" became a doo-wop classic. Fraternity also ventured into rock and roll, producing records for bands such as The Shirelles and The Shadows of Knight.
