Audio Fidelity

Audio Fidelity was founded in 1958 by producer and engineer, Sidney Frey. Initially focused on high-fidelity vinyl records, the label gained prominence for its innovative use of stereo sound and high-quality recordings. In the 1960s, Audio Fidelity became known for releasing albums by notable artists such as jazz saxophonist Stan Getz, blues musician Muddy Waters, and rock bands like The Shadows of Knight. The label specialized in genres including jazz, blues, rock, and pop, often reissuing classic albums with enhanced audio quality. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Audio Fidelity faced competition from larger labels but continued to release remastered versions of iconic albums. In the 2000s, the label was revived under new ownership, focusing on high-resolution audio formats and vinyl reissues. Audio Fidelity's legacy lies in its commitment to audio quality and its role in the preservation of classic recordings, influencing audiophiles and collectors alike.
