Keith Wood

Keith Wood, born on January 27, 1972, is a retired Irish rugby union player renowned for his skills as a hooker for both Ireland and the British & Irish Lions. He played at the club level for teams including Garryowen, Harlequins, and Munster, and is widely regarded as one of the best hookers in rugby history, having won the inaugural World Rugby Player of the Year award in 2001. Wood earned 58 caps for Ireland and participated in the 1997 and 2001 Lions tours, later being inducted into the International Rugby Hall of Fame in 2005. He retired after the 2003 World Cup, leaving a significant legacy in the sport.
