Inez Johnston

Inez and Charlie Foxx were an American R&B and soul duo from Greensboro, North Carolina, active primarily from 1963 to 1971. Inez, born in 1937, and her elder brother Charlie, born in 1933, gained fame for their hit "Mockingbird," which reached the top 10 on both US rhythm and blues and pop charts, selling over a million copies. Their music contributed to the Northern soul movement, and while both pursued solo careers post-duo, they are best remembered for their energetic performances and vocal collaborations. Charlie passed away in 1998, and Inez died in 2022.
