Snuffy Jenkins

DeWitt "Snuffy" Jenkins (1908–1990) was an influential American old-time banjo player known for promoting the three-finger banjo style, significantly impacting bluegrass music. Active from 1927 to 1989, he played with several bands, including J. E. Mainer's Mountaineers and The Hired Hands, and gained recognition through radio and television appearances. Jenkins's traditional playing style is considered a precursor to modern bluegrass, and he is acknowledged as a major influence on banjo virtuoso Earl Scruggs.
