Bobby. Charles

Bobby Charles, born Robert Charles Guidry on February 21, 1938, was an influential American singer-songwriter from Abbeville, Louisiana, who contributed significantly to the swamp pop genre. Active from the 1950s until the 1990s, he is best known for his popular songs such as "See You Later, Alligator" and "Walking to New Orleans," which were recorded by notable artists including Bill Haley and Fats Domino. Charles's work was acknowledged with inductions into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame and the Museum of the Gulf Coast's Music Hall of Fame. He passed away on January 14, 2010, leaving behind a legacy in American music.
