Richard Davis

Richard Allen Davis, born on June 2, 1954, is an American convicted murderer currently on death row in California for the 1993 kidnapping and murder of 12-year-old Polly Klaas. His criminal activity prior to this high-profile case, including various burglaries, contributed to the implementation of California's "three-strikes law" and the involuntary civil commitment act for sex offenders. Convicted in 1996, his case drew significant media attention and public outrage, particularly due to the circumstances surrounding Klaas's abduction and his subsequent confession to the crime.
