Bobby Jones

Bobby Jones, born Robert Tyre Jones Jr. on March 17, 1902, was an influential American amateur golfer and lawyer, known for his dominance in the sport during the 1920s and early 1930s. He achieved a remarkable feat by winning the "Grand Slam" in 1930, securing victories in all four major tournaments of his time. Jones co-founded the Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament, which became significant events in professional golf. After retiring from competition at age 28, he focused on course design and golf instruction, ultimately facing health challenges that limited his activity. Jones passed away on December 18, 1971.
