Tran-Sisters

Huyền Trân was a Vietnamese princess of the Trần Dynasty, born in 1289 and died in 1340. She became queen consort Parameshvari of Champa through her marriage to King Jaya Simhavarman III in 1306, which was part of a diplomatic exchange that included the cession of two provinces to Đại Việt. After her husband's death in 1307, she was rescued from a potential ritual cremation by General Trần Khắc Chung and returned to Đại Việt, an event that influenced subsequent relations between the two kingdoms. Her life and marriage have inspired various works of Vietnamese literature and art.
