Terry Reid

Terry Reid (1949–2025) was an English musician, songwriter, and guitarist, renowned for his emotive singing style and significant contributions to rock music. Known as "Superlungs," he gained early acclaim in the 1960s, performing with bands including Peter Jay and the Jaywalkers and supporting prominent acts like The Rolling Stones and Cream. Reid's notable decisions included turning down the lead vocalist roles in Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. He released six studio albums and was regarded as an "artists' artist," influencing many contemporaries but achieving only moderate commercial success during his career. He remained active in music until his death in 2025.
