Becky Lamb

Dana and Ginger Lamb were American travel writers notable for their adventurous journey in a homemade canoe, the Vagabunda, which they undertook from 1933 to 1936, covering 16,000 miles through Mexico and Central America. They chronicled their experiences in their first book, Enchanted Vagabonds (1938), and later published Quest for the Lost City (1951), which became the basis for a feature film. Their claims of discovering a "lost city" in the Maya area drew skepticism from professional archaeologists. The Lambs continued to travel and write until Ginger's death in 1967 and Dana's in 1979. Their works and artifacts are preserved in a collection at The Sherman Library.
