Jagiello Lil Wally

Walter Jagiello, known as "Li'l Wally," was a Polish-American polka musician and songwriter, born on August 1, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, and he passed away on August 17, 2006. A self-taught musician, he was influential in the Chicago-style polka movement, renowned for his distinct drumming and dance-friendly rhythms. Jagiello founded Jay-Jay Records and composed popular songs like "Johnny's Knocking" and "I Wish I Was Single Again." He gained prominence by performing for Pope John Paul II in 1984 and was one of the first inductees into the International Polka Association's Hall of Fame in 1969, leaving a lasting legacy through his music and numerous recordings.
