ColosseumThe Colosseum is an ancient Roman amphitheatre located in the center of Rome, Italy, constructed from 70 to 80 AD under emperors Vespasian and Titus. Known as the largest and oldest amphitheatre in the world, it hosted gladiatorial contests, public spectacles, and various entertainments for up to 80,000 spectators. Following the decline of its use for entertainment, the Colosseum underwent multiple modifications for various purposes, including housing and workshops. Despite suffering from earthquakes and significant stone removal, it remains a prominent symbol of Imperial Rome and a major tourist attraction. The Colosseum is recognized as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. (Source: Wikipedia)
