Average White Band (AWB)

The Average White Band (AWB) is a Scottish funk and R&B band formed in 1971, known for their major hits in the mid-1970s, particularly the instrumental track "Pick Up the Pieces," which topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Their notable albums include "AWB" and "Cut the Cake," both of which achieved commercial success. AWB has influenced numerous musicians and is recognized as one of the most sampled acts in music history. Despite a decline in popularity in the 1980s, the band continued to tour and record, with plans for a final tour announced in 2023.
