American International Movie Soundtracks

A soundtrack is a recorded audio accompaniment for various media, including films, television, video games, and theatrical productions. It encompasses dialogue, music, and sound effects, often presented as a commercially released album, which can feature music that may or may not be directly used in the media. The concept gained popularity in the late 1940s, with significant milestones including the first commercially issued film soundtrack for Disney's "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" in 1938, and growth in diversity of soundtracks from the 1970s onwards, influencing music charts and popular culture through numerous iconic scores and songs.
