The Music of Smash is the debut soundtrack album by the cast of the American musical television series Smash, released by Columbia Records on May 1, 2012. Featuring a mix of seven covers and six original songs, the album achieved notable success, selling 39,000 copies in its first week and a total of 112,000 copies by late June 2012. The soundtracks includes contributions from prominent writers and production by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, among others, and is available in standard and deluxe editions.
