His famous works include songs like "April in Paris," "Autumn in New York," and "I Can't Get Started," characterized by collaboration with prominent lyricists such as Ira Gershwin and E.Y. Harburg. Duke's career spanned from the 1920s through the 1960s, during which he balanced composing for both musical theater and classical orchestras until his death in 1969 in California.
