The Head Shop

The Head Shop is an American psychedelic rock band from New York, notable for their eponymous album released in 1969 on Epic Records. Emerging from a Brooklyn street-corner group and originally known as the Household Sponge, the band created a unique sound blending various influences, which included covers of iconic Beatles songs. Despite their limited commercial success and being considered obscure, the album has garnered interest among collectors and is characterized by its experimental approach and intriguing album artwork. Later reissues included additional tracks from their precursor projects, further highlighting their underground legacy.
