Yvan Daniel

Yvan Patry (1948–1999) was a Canadian documentary filmmaker known for his impactful works that addressed social and political issues. He began his career in the 1970s as a professor and producer at Montmorency College, creating educational films, and later produced significant documentaries about conflicts in Nicaragua and Rwanda, including the acclaimed "Chronicle of a Genocide Foretold." He was also a co-founder of Alter Ciné, an organization supporting filmmakers and journalists in collaboration with Third World groups. Patry's contributions to documentary filmmaking have left a lasting legacy, particularly in highlighting human rights and social justice themes.
