Elmer Gill

Elmer Gill was an American jazz musician born on February 17, 1926, in Indianapolis, known for his skills as a pianist, vibraphonist, and singer. After serving in World War II, he studied music in France and later at the University of Washington, leading his own group in Seattle. Gill gained prominence by touring with Lionel Hampton and collaborated with various notable musicians throughout his career. By the 1980s, he was based in Vancouver, British Columbia, while remaining active in performances across North America, Europe, and Japan until his death on May 28, 2004.
