The Melodaires

The Imperials is an American contemporary Christian music group that originated as a southern gospel quartet in 1964 and has been influential in the genre for over six decades. They are recognized as pioneers of contemporary Christian music, having won four Grammy Awards and 15 Dove Awards, and were inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. The group has seen numerous member changes and evolved through various musical styles, collaborating with notable artists including Elvis Presley during the late 1960s.
