Thumbs TubbyPuppetoons is a series of animated puppet films created by George Pal primarily during the 1930s and 1940s, using a technique known as replacement animation. The series began in Europe and transitioned to the United States, producing over 40 shorts for Paramount Pictures, seven of which received Academy Award nominations. Notable for their Art Deco style and use of hand-carved wooden figures, the series concluded in the late 1940s due to rising production costs, leading Pal to work on feature films. The Puppetoons have since gained recognition, with several being preserved and reintroducing to contemporary audiences through various releases. (Source: Wikipedia)
