Leon Russell

Leon Russell was an American singer-songwriter known for his influential career spanning over 60 years and multiple musical genres, including rock, country, gospel, and blues. Born Claude Russell Bridges on April 2, 1942, he gained prominence as a session musician and songwriter, contributing to hits like "Delta Lady" and "A Song for You," the latter of which has been covered by over 200 artists. Russell received two Grammy Awards and was inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2011. His collaborative work with iconic artists and his distinctive piano style solidified his legacy in the music industry until his death on November 13, 2016.
