Frankie Yankovic

Frankie Yankovic (1915–1998) was a Slovenian-American accordionist and polka musician, renowned as "America's Polka King." A prominent figure in the Slovenian style of music, he recorded over 200 songs and sold more than 30 million records throughout his career, earning the first Grammy Award in the Best Polka Recording category in 1986. Yankovic gained fame with hit singles like "Just Because" and "Blue Skirt Waltz," and he also hosted television shows dedicated to polka music. He passed away from heart failure in Florida but left a significant legacy in the polka genre.
