Frank Traynor

Frank Traynor (1927–1985) was an influential Australian jazz musician and trombonist based in Melbourne, known for leading the Jazz Preachers, Australia's longest-running jazz band, from 1956 until his death. He was instrumental in the Australian folk revival through his establishment of Frank Traynor's Folk and Jazz Club from 1963 to 1975 and founded the Melbourne Jazz Club in 1958. His contributions to jazz and folk music, as well as iconic recordings associated with Australian rules football, solidified his legacy in the Australian music scene.
