Bob GilliesClark Gillies (1954–2022) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player notable for his tenure with the New York Islanders and Buffalo Sabres in the NHL from 1974 to 1988. He served as captain of the Islanders and was a key player during their four consecutive Stanley Cup victories from 1980 to 1983, recording 319 goals and 378 assists over his career. Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2002, Gillies was recognized for his role as a power forward on the Islanders' top line alongside Mike Bossy and Bryan Trottier, contributing significantly to the team's success during a dominant era in the sport.
