Cavallaro Carmen And His Orchestra

Carmen Cavallaro (1913–1989) was an influential American pianist known as the "Poet of the Piano," recognized for his popularization of light music through glittering arpeggios and lush arrangements. Active from 1933 to 1989, he gained fame in both bands and solo performances, notably achieving success with recordings like "Sukiyaki" and his pop rendition of Chopin's "Polonaise." Cavallaro was also a radio and film presence, hosting shows and performing in movies, including playing piano music for Tyrone Power in "The Eddy Duchin Story." He left a lasting legacy in the music industry and was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
