The Gap Band III is the fifth studio album by American R&B band The Gap Band, released in 1980. Produced by Lonnie Simmons, the album achieved platinum status and includes notable singles such as "Burn Rubber (Why You Wanna Hurt Me)" and "Yearning for Your Love." It topped the Black Albums chart and reached #16 on the Billboard Hot 200, marking a significant point in the band's career before they moved to Total Experience Records for future releases. The album was later reissued in a remastered edition in 2009.
