King Coleman

Carlton "King" Coleman (January 20, 1932 – September 11, 2010) was an American rhythm and blues singer-songwriter known for his hit single "(Do The) Mashed Potatoes," recorded in 1959 with James Brown's band. He enjoyed a multifaceted career as a musician, disc jockey, and actor, performing actively until 2005 and hosting several radio shows throughout his life. Coleman's contributions to music included numerous singles and a gospel album, while he also appeared in films and television series. He passed away at the age of 78 in Miami, Florida, leaving behind a legacy in the rhythm and blues genre.
