René y René was a Tex-Mex pop music duo from Laredo, Texas, consisting of René Ornelas and René Herrera. Active in the 1960s, they gained fame with hit singles like "Angelito" and "Lo Mucho que Te Quiero," the latter reaching #2 on the Adult Contemporary chart. They were notable for their early appearance on American Bandstand and were inducted into the Tejano Music Hall of Fame in 1990. René Ornelas continued to perform into the 2010s under the name "René René."
