Vicki Young

Vicki Lawrence, born Vicki Ann Axelrad on March 26, 1949, is a noteworthy American actress, comedian, and singer, best recognized for her character Thelma "Mama" Harper on CBS's The Carol Burnett Show from 1967 to 1978. Lawrence's portrayal of Mama led to the spin-off sitcom Mama's Family, which ran from 1983 to 1990. In addition to her television career, she achieved musical success with her hit single "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia," reaching number one on U.S. charts in the early 1970s. Lawrence has received multiple Emmy nominations, winning one in 1976, and continues to perform in various capacities, actively engaging with audiences.
