Dean Gitter

Sam Gary (February 19, 1917 – July 20, 1986) was an American blues and folk singer recognized for his collaborations with notable artists like Josh White. Active primarily in the 1940s as a member of groups such as Josh White and His Carolinians and the Almanac Singers, he recorded a significant album in 1956 for Transition Records. After retiring from music, Gary lived in Aiken, South Carolina, where he passed away in a fire.
