Lucky AmboThe York–Scarborough line is a railway in North Yorkshire, England, connecting York and Scarborough, and serving towns like Malton and Seamer. Opened in 1845, it was built quickly by the York and North Midland Railway, bypassing tunnels to follow the scenic River Derwent. Initially single-tracked, most intermediate stations were closed by 1930 due to declining passenger numbers and competition from buses. Currently operated by TransPennine Express, the line has plans for station re-openings and infrastructure upgrades, including a recent bridge replacement, with services running hourly along the 42-mile route.
