The Sammes Mike Singers

Mike Sammes (1928-2001) was an English musician and vocal arranger known for his extensive work in the UK pop music scene from the 1950s to the 1970s. He led the Mike Sammes Singers, a vocal group that provided backing for numerous hit singles and television shows, including their notable involvement in The Beatles' "I Am the Walrus" and "Good Night." Sammes's career flourished during an era when live session musicians were in high demand, but the rise of multi-tracking technology eventually diminished this need. He continued to work in music until the mid-1980s and passed away at the age of 73.
