The Winstons

The Winstons were an American funk and soul group formed in Washington, D.C., known for their 1969 hit "Color Him Father" and the influential track "Amen, Brother," which features the widely sampled "Amen break." This break has significantly impacted various music genres and the group's record sold over one million copies, earning a Grammy Award for Best Rhythm and Blues Song. Despite their success, the Winstons disbanded in 1970 due to challenges related to their multiracial composition.
