Knocky ParkerKnocky Parker, born John William Parker II in 1918 in Texas, was an American jazz pianist known for his contributions to ragtime and Dixieland music. He played in notable Western swing bands before serving in World War II, later collaborating with prominent musicians and recording several albums, including comprehensive works of Scott Joplin. In addition to his music career, he held academic positions as an English professor at Kentucky Wesleyan College and the University of South Florida, and was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1984.
