Corey Professor Irwin

Irwin Corey (1914–2017) was an influential American comedian and actor known for his improvisational, absurdist style of comedy, often presented through his character "The World's Foremost Authority." He began his career in the late 1930s, gaining prominence in the 1950s and 1960s through appearances in clubs like the hungry i and on various television shows, including The Tonight Show. A political activist, Corey supported leftist causes and faced blacklisting during the McCarthy era. He lived to be 102, leaving behind a legacy as a unique figure in American comedy and cultural commentary.
