Reed Lou

Lou Reed (1942–2013) was an influential American rock musician known as the guitarist, singer, and principal songwriter for the Velvet Underground, a band that became pivotal in the development of underground and alternative rock. Despite initially achieving limited commercial success, Reed's distinctive style, characterized by poetic and provocative lyrics, gained recognition during his five-decade solo career, especially with the glam rock landmark album "Transformer" (1972). He faced personal struggles, including drug addiction, but returned to prominence in the 1980s, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, first with the Velvet Underground in 1996 and later as a solo artist in 2015.
