Alice BabsAlice Babs, born Hildur Alice Nilson on January 26, 1924, was a renowned Swedish jazz and schlager singer who had a versatile career spanning several genres, including Swedish folklore and opera. She gained international fame as a jazz artist and was Sweden's first competitor in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1958. Babs was also a notable collaborator with Duke Ellington, performing in his Sacred Concerts. In 1972, she was honored as Sweden's Royal Court Singer, marking her as the first non-opera singer to receive this distinction. Babs passed away on February 11, 2014. (Source: Wikipedia)
