Hicks Dan And His Hot Licks

Dan Hicks (1941–2016) was an American singer-songwriter and musician, known for leading the group Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks. His eclectic musical style integrated elements of folk, jazz, country, and swing, with notable songs such as "I Scare Myself" and "Canned Music." Hicks gained prominence in the late 1960s and 1970s, particularly with the album "Last Train to Hicksville," which earned significant acclaim. Despite personal challenges with substance abuse, he enjoyed a resurgence in the 2000s with new albums and performances. Hicks passed away from cancer in 2016, leaving a legacy marked by his unique blend of humor and music.
