Mitchell Torok

Mitchell Torok (1929–2017) was an American country singer-songwriter and guitarist, notable for his 1953 hit "Caribbean" and the song "Mexican Joe," which gained fame after being recorded by Jim Reeves. Torok achieved multiple Billboard chart successes during the 1950s and 1960s, and later collaborated with various artists while also engaging in painting and writing. He was associated with influential programs like the Louisiana Hayride and produced notable mural art, including a tribute to Elvis Presley. Torok continued to create music and art until his passing in 2017.
