Johnny Bush

Johnny Bush (1935–2020) was a notable American country music singer, songwriter, and musician, recognized for his distinct voice and for writing "Whiskey River," a hit that became popularized by Willie Nelson. Known as the "Country Caruso," he gained prominence in the honky-tonk scene, especially in Texas, and had a career spanning from the 1950s until his death, during which he faced vocal challenges due to spasmodic dysphonia. Despite these difficulties, he revitalized his career later on and influenced younger Texas musicians, ultimately being inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame.
