Commander Cody And His Lost Planet AirmenCommander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen were an American country rock band founded in 1967 by George Frayne IV, known as Commander Cody. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, they gained fame for their energetic live performances and their 1972 hit "Hot Rod Lincoln," which contributed to their notability in the country rock genre before disbanding in 1976. Frayne continued to perform under various iterations of the name until his death in 2021, while other members pursued successful solo careers, marking the band as influential figures in the development of roots rock and progressive country music.
